JAGUAR

As we embark on a new academic year, the Junior Accountants’ Guild of United Artists for Recognition (JAGUAR) is excited to actualize planned activities, showcase superb talents, and be an avenue for continuous learning and development in the field of dancing.

During the annual Palarong Atenista and Ateneo Fiesta, JAGUAR is bound to participate in various dance competitions, which are regarded as few of the highlights of the whole celebration; these dance competitions include the Pair Dance Showdown, Group Dance Showdown, and Sayawtenista. These major events are battles of great dancing skills and superior concepts; both of which are expected nothing less from the fearsome JAGUAR.

Aside from joining competitions, invitations to perform intermission numbers in other school events are often received. Trainings and workshops for JAGUAR members and non-members are also one of the activities to look forward to in the Academic Year 2020-2021.

As an annual tradition, JAGUAR is set to recruit new members from the diverse pool of BS in Accountancy and BS in Management Accounting students by conducting series of auditions. Aspiring members are expected to perform dance routines which will become the basis for the skill assessment and membership approval.

JAGUAR was recently hailed as the Champion of the SAYAWTENISTA during the 71st Ateneo Fiesta with the theme 'Colors.' Embodying the color 'Brown', the JAGUAR depicted the struggles of the miners trapped inside the San José Mine in Chile. With the concept inspired from the movie "The 33," the performance spearheaded by the choreographer, Aris Dequit, sealed a back-to-back win for the team.

SAYAWTENISTA 2018 was all about world history, and the JAGUAR depicted the biblical story of Exodus. JAGUAR started their storytelling by representing the oppression of the Jews by the Pharaoh of Egypt. Moses entered the scene and helped the oppressed with the power of God, symbolized by the burning bush. The story ended with an astonishing splitting of the sea and the presenting of the Ten Commandments. By the end of the competition, JAGUAR bagged the Championship title with its performance choreographed by. Mr. Aris Dequit.

We are blind. We are distraught. We are distracted.

An awakening 1st runner-up piece choreographed by Mr. Aris Dequit and conveyed by the JAGUAR in the 69th Ateneo de Davao Fiesta: SAYAWTENISTA, reminding us that our ‘Distraction’ will lead to our own destruction.

A breath-taking performance by the JAGUAR in the 68th Ateneo Fiesta: SAYAWTENISTA, with the theme “Philippine Historic Events”. Inspired by the infamous KKK (Kataas-taasang Kagalang-galangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan), the JAGUARs engraved their battles and true essence in every move giving a revolutionary turn from the last year's standing. A stunning gold it is for the first year of Mr. Aris Dequit as the JAGUAR's resident choreographer.
